I was assigned to be the Deputy Head of Programmes. My task was to be in charge of the Programmes committee for Oh Verve Drive 2020 and Verve 2020, as well as coming up with the programme lineup of both events. My role also requires me to ensure the harmonious facilitation and professional artist liaison for both events.

Therefore, I had to contact artists, partners and sponsors such as hidden Ngee Ann Polytechnic talents for the Visual and Literary Arts Festa in Oh Verve Drive. I also had to brainstorm and develop various programmes with my committee, give advice to other teams about their programmes, and create and post content and programmes for the Oh Verve Drive and Verve website.

My partner and I came up with an update sheet using Google Sheets that consisted of task allocation and timeline, to make sure everyone in our committee is updated and on track. In addition, I had to brief volunteers, arrange logistics, execute programmes such as filming production and post-production, come up with marketing strategies, and overlook the management of the programmes team.

One programme I took part in was Get Heard Through Tenacity, a collaboration with Universal Music Singapore's Spinnup. I created the programme production plan and schedule, gathering and taking care of participants and artists, liaising with talent managers and artists to produce a 45-minute performance programme.

I was involved in other programmes such as Verve X Lookbook: East Meets West as the Assistant Creative Director, Neighbourhood Folktales and editing videos for the PILOTS series.

From this experience, I learnt how to step up to be a better leader as I had to communicate with other departments to sub-committee members, as well as artist managers to artists, and to ensure that the event goes well. I also improved in my artist liaison and people management skills.
